SSIS is a Charter member of MRISA, which stands for The Mekong River International Schools Association. This organization provides opportunities for our school and students to interact with other schools in our region through regularly planned events.
MISSION
The overall purpose of MRISA is stated in the Mission Statement as follows:
The mission of MRISA is to promote:
• Professional development for teachers, administrators and support staff.
• Athletic and Cultural Exchanges for students.
• Networking among member schools.
In MRISA Exchanges for students, the emphasis will be on cooperation among students and wide participation by students, rather than on competition and winning.
MEMBERSHIP
The current list of member schools is:
• Hanoi International School (HIS)
• International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE)
• International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC)
• International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP)
• Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC)
• Saigon South International School (SSIS)
• United Nation International School of Hanoi (UNIS)
• Vientiane International School (VIS)
All of these schools are accredited schools with academic and conduct standards similar to ours at SSIS.
PARTICIPATION
Participation in student exchanges is highly encouraged. When participating in an exchange, all students and adults are required to abide by the Code of Conduct that has been agreed upon and approved by all the schools. This is very important to maintain the integrity of the program and the safety of the students. When a student (with his/her parents) decide to participate in an exchange, it is very important that they follow through with this to ensure a complete team and full participation in the exchange. |
