Effective 2008/2009 School Year

Enrollment Fee (for returning students)
A deposit of US$ 1,000 is payable by 11 April 2008 for all returning students at SSIS. Payment of the deposit will guarantee a seat for the student listed in the invoice provided all other requirements are met. This deposit is mandatory and failure to make payment by the due date may result in the loss of a seat for the student. The deposit will be credited against tuition in the first invoice for the 2008-2009 school year. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Tuition
There are two tuition payment options:
Option 1: A quarterly payment plan with no refund option.  Please refer to the tuition table below.
Option 2: Payment in full by 1 August 2008. A 4% early payment discount applies.

The above quoted fees are for your estimate of yearly costs.  Tuition is actually quoted and paid in Vietnamese Dong, which is adjusted monthly according to the prevailing exchange rate on the first of each month.

Application Fee: US $300 per student (non-refundable)

This is a one-time fee payable when the application form is submitted. This fee covers all administrative costs and admission and placement testing charges.

Annual Capital Assessment Fee: US $2,000 per student (refundable per schedule)
This fee funds capital investment in the school facilities and equipment and must be paid at the beginning of the school year.

Enrollment Fee: US $1,000 per student (credited toward tuition)                                                 Upon receiving an offer of enrollment, an Enrollment Fee of $1,000 must be paid immediately to guarantee a place in school for the following school year or semester. This payment is applied toward the full year tuition fee.

Late Payment Policy
All fees must be paid by the due date(s).  Late penalties will be charged as follows:

• After 30 days past the payment due date, a 5% penalty will be applied on the outstanding amount.  Parents who receive a penalty notice that they believe is an error, should provide a copy of the bank payment receipt to the school. The penalty will depend on the date of the bank receipt.
• After 60 days past the payment due date, (in addition to the 5% penalty), school records will be withheld and educational services may be denied.

Late Enrollment

The school accepts late new enrollments depending on seat availability and potential disruption to existing classes. For a student enrolling at SSIS after the beginning of the academic year, the following fees will apply:

Refund Policy

For students whose required school fees were paid in full and in advance, on time, at the beginning of the academic year (not by installment plan) the following refund policy and schedule is applied according to the date of departure from the school for any reason.  The parent must complete the standard Departure Notice form and procedures in order to obtain the refund.

Additional Costs

The school supplies all educational texts and many supplementary supplies. Students and families are responsible for personal supplies, lunch, school uniforms, field trip expenses, AP Exams, bus transportation charges, and PTA dues.

Special Discount
A 20% discount will be applied to tuition and capital assessment fee for the 3rd and subsequent child(ren) of the same family attending SSIS. This discount does not apply to families whose tuition is paid by a sponsoring company, government, or other agency. This discount will be applied to the youngest child(ren) in attendance.

Payment is by bank transfer in VND as follows:

• Saigon South International School: account # 2311.00.51519 at Chinfon Commercial Bank, 27 Tu Xuong, District 3, HCMC.
